Visit to Altarworthy Studio

Early last year (2014) (Yes, I know I haven’t been blogging for quite a while but I promise to do better in 2015), I was honored to visit the studio of my friend Emily Uhl who is the wonderful head seamstress and designer at Altarworthy Handmade Vestments. She has been quite an inspiration to me and has very generously given me her time and encouragement. If you love embroidery and vestments and all the beautiful things of the Church then you really must visit her website.
The embroidery featured here is of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It is absolutely exquisite in design and detail. Most of the ecclesiastical embroideries today, including this one, are stitched overseas.
